Here are a few differences between asana and yoga. Many of us often get confused between asana and yoga, which are completely different from each other;

Definition:

Exercises are known for the physical and mental support they provide to our bodies. There is nothing to do with spirituality in practice. On the other hand, the asana involves some spirituality and physical and mental benefits.

Type:

When it comes to the type, the asana involves the movement of the entire body and is complete and balanced. On the other hand, exercise involves working on a specific part alone and neglecting the other muscles.

Concentration:

There is no need for concentration during exercise. You must make your body work and burn some calories, even with or without your attention. But on the other hand, if you are practicing any of the asanas, you have to concentrate completely and ensure that you are with all your senses in the present movement.

Oxygen Consumption:

Physical exercises lead to increased oxygen consumption which causes exertion and makes you tired. At the same time, this is not the same in the case of yoga. Yoga is an improvement in your breathing force that often requires enhancement in breathing. Hence both involve different aspects of breathing.
